Taking in all of Slovenia’s best locations, this amazing multi-day wedding itinerary will have everyone talking about your 2, 3 or even 4-day event for years to come.

From a rehearsal dinner on the glorious coastline of Piran to a wedding in the stunning waterfront setting of Lake Bled and a post-wedding bottomless brunch-fest in Brda, alpine wine country – this is a wedding weekend like no other.

Here’s how to plan the perfect multi-day wedding event neither your or your loved ones will ever forget.

YOUR DREAM MULTI-DAY ITINERARY PLAN

Day One: Wedding Welcome Event, Piran & Portorož

It’s day one, everyone’s filled with excitement and anticipation. There’s an amazing buzz as guests arrive and family and friends get acquainted.

Harness the good vibes by kicking things off in the beautiful coastal resort of Piran. Located on Slovenia’s Adriatic Coast in stunning Istria, Piran is reminiscent of an Italian coastal town. For day one of your wedding weekend, Piran’s impressive beach backdrop is guaranteed to generate the relaxing, cool, party atmosphere you want to welcome your guests with.

With your goal to keep the socialising and fun going, there’s a number of options for what you choose to do. You might decide to host your rehearsal dinner or you could opt for a cocktail party. Other popular options for the first day include a sit-down meal or relaxed celebratory gathering – it’s up to you.

What you do need to do is to plan your gathering for the evening so everyone has plenty of time to arrive, unpack and do a bit of exploring. Remember your family and friends are also on holiday so give them time to do their own thing each day meaning you only need to plan one event per day.

With an opportunity to uncover Slovenia’s prettiest town, there’s plenty for loved ones to do and see. A nod to Istria’s close ties with Italy, you’ll enjoy a popular destination, rich with historic Venetian Gothic architecture.

Amongst the divine terracotta-roofed houses, olive groves and Italian-style town squares decorated with fountains, you’ll find museums, galleries, historic churches, bars full of local wine, delicious restaurants serving up Italian-style dishes, markets brimming with tasty fresh produce and more.

Top sights in Piran you won’t want to miss include: Strunjan Landscape Park, the Old Town with its tiny cobbled alleyways full of hidden treasures, the Museum of Salt-Making at Secovlje Salt Pans where you can discover how salt was taken from the salt pans to consumers around the world and the Lepa Vida Thalasso Spa where you’ll be pampered with revitalising treatments made using the salt pan’s healing waters.

For loved ones who want to get active there are tons of way to enjoy hiking, cycling, watersports, horse-riding and more. Slovenia is home to an endless array of awe-inspiring landscapes so from breathtaking national parks to scenic coastal walks, there’s lots to do.

PORTOROŽ

You may want to give friends and family the option to stay in Portoroz. Just 30 minutes walk along the coast or ten minutes drive, Portoroz is a quieter coastal town. It doesn’t have the same wow factor as Piran but it is full of spas, sandy beaches (Piran’s are mostly pebbled), glorious views and wellness centres.

Draw up a shortlist of options for accommodation and top things to do to help loved ones enjoy their stay. Mail it out with the emails you send to organise your multi-day experience.

Day Two: The Wedding, Lake Bled

Sustain the pace and excitement with your wedding on day two. Planning your wedding ceremony for the middle of your multi-day event means the momentum never drops.

Your guests will still be exhilarated from day one’s fun and everyone has the freedom to party to the max because they have day 3 to recover.

Day 3 will find you in the sublime town of Bled, another pretty Slovenian town. Where else could you marry in Slovenia but by the shores of majestic Lake Bled? This world- famous, sensational setting is just an hour and 45 minutes drive from Piran.

Here you’ll get married in one of the world’s best, most romantic destinations. Lake Bled’s wedding venues are absolutely stunning with something to offer every wedding style.

All the top Lake Bled wedding venues are dotted around the lake with everything from medieval Bled Castle in the hills to grand Vila Bled, a Presidential stately home with parkland which finishes on the banks of Lake Bled, contemporary hotel wedding venues, rustic Pension Berc, perfect for a barn-style wedding with views over the mountains and so much more.

You could even get married in a historic church in the middle of Lake Bled, arriving by pletna boat (like a large gondola) compete with your own oarsman. Dreamy.

Now on the day, you of course will be having the time of your life so a top Lake Bled wedding planner like me, is all you need to ensure everything goes to plan and you can enjoy your day. In fact, I can plan your entire multi-day event with you….more

Day Three: Post-Wedding Brunch, Goriska Buda

It’s the day after your wedding and the final day of your wedding weekend. Though things are wrapping up, there’s no need to lower the mood although everyone will be a little worse for wear.

The serene alpine setting of Goriska Brda near the coast, has the all the elements you need for a post-wedding celebration. Glorious views across vineyards from some the world’s best wineries as well as orchards and olive groves, deliver a Tuscany-style setting in a region heavily influenced by its Italian settlers of the past.

Multi-day wedding starts in the Brda region in Slovenia with a vineyard picnic.

With everyone needing a lie-in and bags to be packed, a brunch experience on day 3 is the perfect solution. Where else to do brunch in wine country than at one of Goriska Brda’s many wineries? Think Italian-style food accompanied by regional Brda wine. Favoured across the world, you’ll sample world-class wine with a backdrop of rousing views over Brda’s rural landscape.

You can sit down with your loved ones and enjoy a leisurely time talking, laughing and crying about all the fun and emotions of the day before whilst feasting on a delicious brunch.

Of course this is a bottomless brunch so those who want to continue the fun can go on to do something else. The cosmopolitan capital city of Ljubljana is only an hour’s drive away and packed with things to do.

Alternatively, the surrounding landscape offers endless regional wonders to discover such as: the Postoja Caves, 13th century Dobrovo Castle, Villa Vipolze and more.

Now of course, you may decide to stay right where you are for the rest of the day and let brunch turn to dinner.

Meanwhile those who have flights to catch can leave when they choose and you’ll have plenty of time to deliver heartfelt thankyous to every guest. As they depart, all your family and friends will be full of warmth and fun memories of your wedding extravaganza.
